Lions, Tigers, and Rain. Oh my!

Thursday night we went to Boise Zoo. It was their last summer zoo night so they had hot dogs, games, and face painting (we only found the hot dogs.) Yes we are wearing jackets and long sleeves in the middle of August! There was a small storm that blew through and the high was 65 degrees for three days. Mackenzie didn't mind getting wet, Logan stayed covered. At the lion habitat. She was more concerned about her milk. We would get to the animals, she said hi, said bye, and asked for more. We did see monkeys, giraffes, lions, and tigers. (hey we have a small zoo, it was raining, and I didn't have a map.

Lucky Peak

Last week we went to Lucky Peak. It is a lake in Boise and there is a section that is shallow and has a fountain in it. As close to the beach as we will get right now (but this sand hurts your feet, note to self get water shoes before going back) Robert took her in first. She ran to the water( and I mean ran). She didn't really get to stay where she could stand she just kept going.I stayed with this guy....Lucky me!
They came back after awhile (shivering, it was freezing cold water).

Then went back out (after lunch and warming up). Robert took her all the way out to the fountain (can you see them). She did NOT like that!

Our trip was short. The water was too cold and my feet hurt but it was still fun.
Note: I did go in the water with her but thankfully Robert did not pick up the camera and photograph that.

birthday lunch

Mackenzie and I woke up on our birthday and had blueberry pancakes for breakfast. As we opened our birthday cards (Thank you!) Robert and I were discussing where to go for lunch. And Surprise! my friend sent me a gift card to The Cheesecake Factory, so away we went.
We let the big 2 year old sit in a booster seat! (it didn't last long)

While we waited for cheesecake the seating arrangements suddenly changed!

They are singing to Mackenzie.
mmmmmm. Layers of red velvet cake and regular cheesecake covered in white chocolate. mmmmm Mackenzie only ate the sprinkles. Fine by me.
Monday it was off to the doctor for the second time in one week! Mackenzie is 30 lbs, and 35 inches tall. I forgot her percentile but she is proportional (not on her way to childhood obesity). She is acting like a normal two year old (temper tantrums and all). She got one shot and didn't cry until after the bandaid was on we were telling her good job. She is done with shots until Kindergarten!
That night she re-dressed herself. I blame the shot. and I took her to the store like this so imaging chocolate chip cookie all over her face too. Welcome to the two's!

TWO YEARS OLD!

We had Mackenzie's birthday party on the first of August. It was a luau theme, I vetoed an Elmo party. We did get a couple of family pictures. First she was holding this lamb, its a good picture it just has this stuffed animal in it.Then she dropped it. So another good picture, no lamb, but both the kids are looking at it.
The kids went swimming in our little blow up pool, then came in for lunch. Mackenzie was shivering by that time but warmed up and got into opening presents.

We sang happy birthday. She has been singing happy birthday ever since Robert's birthday a few weeks ago. She really enjoying having it sung to her.

Oops Daddy was still outside so we did it again.

She was really good at blowing out the candles even.

Then one of the other kids said lets do it again! So Mackenzie blew out the candles a third time. Okay by me, a chance to get more pictures.

She loved the attention.

Logan's sweet baby feet. He just hung out during the party.

That afternoon, I finished feeding Logan to find this....

We cleaned it up. I didn't take very many pictures during the party so we had some cake after dinner as well.

Watching her eat her birthday cake this year Robert and I were remembering the last time Mackenzie ate birthday cake.

This time she ate it like this...

What an exhasting day!

Logan had a good time too. He's excited for his birthday now!
