More Summer Fun

Here is Mackenzie hanging out on Daddy's shoulders. A friend of mine invited us over to her apartments to go swimming. I packed so much that you would have thought I was staying for the weekend. I didn't know how Mackenzie would react to hanging out by the pool. I set her playpen up in the shade, gave her a sippy cup and a snack and she was fine. We sat by the pool for a while then went in. She is a water baby, even sticking her face in the water. I tried showing her how to blow bubbles but she was more interested in drinking it. After that we sat out for a little longer then packed up and went home. We will definitly be doing this again.

Summertime Fun

Mackenzie and I have been having so much fun since I have been off for the summer. We have been going to story time with other 6-18 month olds. Here she is sticking her tongue out while we are playing. She is becoming more aware that she can be funny. That we can be funny. That she can express to us what she wants. She has started pointing at everything. Things that interest her and things that she wants.
I bought this little pool for the backyard. It only has a few inches of water in it but it does the trick. The first time she was in it it was on the grass and she was just not sure about what to do. I have since moved it to the patio so it is on the flat surface. Grandma notice the shade and the 60 spf :)
She likes to take the eggs apart and experiment with how to pour the water. She has almost figured out how to drink it.

It has been a precious gift to have this little taste of being a stay at home mom. The next couple of weeks I have some classes I am taking though so it will be back to work schedule but after that I am looking foward at what else the summer brings.

First Day at the Park

Today I finally got Mackenzie to the park! She is turning into such a little daredevil. At first she was a little timid on the swing but warmed up to it quickly. Soon she was laughing and squealing.

Next I tried her on the slide, holding on the whole time but she still loved it. Immediately after I took this picture she fell off of the slide. She didn't even cry, just started to look at the bark.

Finally, we have a recent family photo.

She's already playing us.

Yesterday Mackenzie started to pull my hair, I sternly said, "no". She screwed up her face, looked at Robert, and let out a howl. He took a step closer to us and she reached out her arms for him. (He was thrilled, of course) After he took her in his arms she gave me that look....we are in trouble!

Mackenzie Walking!! (with help)

Here is Mackenzie walking with the help of a walker. She still needs some guidance in steering and in how hard to push it. Notice the sign language at the end :)
