Egg Hunts and Easter Fun

Saturday we went to a community Easter egg hunt. I chose to talk them to this one because they had different hunts for different age groups. Even though it was cold and cloudy they were really excited to go.

They each got their face painted. Mackenzie got an Easter egg and Logan got "Spiderman" (or a blue and red bug).

They had lots of games to play before the hunt started. Logan killed at the bean bag toss,

and Mackenzie tried her hand at potato sack races.

Then it was time for the hunt. While we waited behind the tape a golf cart drove around emptying eggs onto the field and the Easter Bunny made an appearance. Upon seeing this Logan wove in and out of legs and ran out on the field and started collecting eggs. Mackenzie and I ran after him and taught him about patience. :)

Then they were off....

Nobody wanted to meet the bunny any more they just wanted to check out their loot.

There was one more ride they wanted to go one so while I waited in line, they rolled down hills.

totally worth the wait.

Easter morning we put on our Sunday best and headed to church. (what a pretty place to take pictures, and unlike the day before it was a gorgeous day)

After church I put the ham in, we attempted to nap, then the Easter bunny paid us a visit.

Mackenzie ran over to show me everything that she found. She was SO excited!

Logan had some help sniffing out his treats.

Logan's 2 year old stats

Logan is 36.2 inches tall and weighs 29.4 pounds. He is tall and thin. He says 2 to 3 word sentences, can run and jump, and can climb up and down the stairs. He tries his best to keep up with Mackenzie and is showing more and more independence. He has used the potty a handful of times but is no where near ready to officially potty train. He likes to play with his trucks and trains but also likes the kitchen and to play tea party.

Logan's 2nd Birthday

Logan woke up happy and excited on his birthday but I don't think he knew why. Mackenzie knew and was excited enough for the both of them. She was a wonderful big sister to the birthday boy. She picked out a present, helped pick out plates, and even help with the cake.

We went to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch and play!

He and Mackenzie played a couple games of air hockey. They were laughing and screaming the entire time.

Then we went home for a nap (which did not happen even though everyone Mommy and Daddy really wanted one) Then we opened presents.

Tubing

We went up to Solider Hollow to go tubing. Logan isn't old enough to go up the hill but there was space on the bottom of the hill for us to pull him around. Despite the snow it was a rather warm day. First Robert and Mackenzie went up the hill. The tubes hook up to the line that drags you up the hill.

Logan and I stayed behind and I pushed him down a little hill. He still had lots of fun but I think he is ready for the big hill.

Daddy and Mackenzie made it down! Now it was my turn to take Mackenzie up the hill.

I was nervous about her reaction both going up and going down but I think you can see that she loved it!

We continued to take turns going up the hill with her for two hours then drove back home. This was the site of some of the Olympic events when the games were here. We got to see a torch and where all the flags were. We may not be skiers but we are tubers!

Luck of the Irish

We woke up on St. Patrick's Day to find that a tricky leprechaun had visited us! He turned our milk green, left foot prints on the table, and hid some gold coins around our house. At lunch we found that he had even turned that green!We loved getting cards from Aunt Amy (even though at first Mackenzie thought that the leprechaun had sent them, I set her straight) :).
The kids and I ventured downtown for the St. Patrick's Day parade. It was fun...and long. We saw lots of bagpipes, dancers, trucks, and every Catholic school in the city had a float!
