The kids, I'm sure, probably didn't know what we were doing but they had fun sitting in their chairs and running in and out of the tent (so much for the 'no shoes in the tent' rule).

Here is our view from the camp ground....
there is a creek down there, unfortunately WAY too cold to play in.
Dinner was simple, hot dogs cooked on sticks and potato chips eaten out of my old mess kits and washed down with milk boxes.

The kids had a lot of fun playing in the smoke too.
Then it was time for.....
s'mores! Mackenzie gobbled hers up but Logan just ate graham crackers, silly boy.

We all slept (a bit uncomfortably) together in the tent and when the sun came up we were ready to get up. I warmed some milk and made coffee and we had pop tarts for breakfast (another first for my kids). The kids slept the whole way home and Robert told me I wasn't so crazy. We have plans to do this more often next summer, and maybe start saving for a small camper....just to sleep in (sorry Aunt Susan).
