Once the parade started Mackenzie was into it. At first she sat quietly, like she usually does in a new situation. We went home for lunch, which included blueberries, raspberries, and special red, white, and blue candy. Everyone took a nap and it was an afternoon as usual. We debated about doing fireworks all day and had decided that it would be best to skip them this year seeing how it doesn't get dark until after 10. As the night went on and neighbors were playing with their fireworks, the dogs were going crazy, and Mackenzie continued to stay awake playing in her crib we thought why not. So we loaded a sleeping Logan (who amazingly sleep through it all and the transfer back into bed) and a confused Mackenzie into the car and headed out. The firework display is not too far but just far enough so we can't see them from the house. We parked in a parking lot that had just one other family in it and that had a clear view of the fireworks. Mackenzie enjoyed them and wasn't the slightest bit scared by the noise. The other family were also setting off there own and those were fun to watch as well. We left the house in a rush to catch the fireworks that I forgot my camera boo :( All in all it was a great holiday!
