Fourth of July

We had a ton of fun on the fourth. We got up and had blueberry pancakes. Then headed off for the parade in downtown Boise. I don't know if Mackenzie was quite sure of what was going on.Here I am with both of the kids. Logan doesn't seem to like the sling as much as Mackenzie did. He gets mad when he can't stretch out his legs.
Ahhh....Free from the sling.
Once the parade started Mackenzie was into it. At first she sat quietly, like she usually does in a new situation.
Even Logan enjoyed some of the parade.
After awhile Mackenzie got into it. She was waving,
and shouting,
and clapping to the music. This group even took a picture of her, they know a cute kid when they see one.
When the paraders turned the corner she wondered "Where go?" and we had to hold her back from going after them. But someone new would come along and catch her attention. One group went bye and she shouted "Puppy!" and sure enough there was a tiny dog in a basket. Good eye Mackenzie!
We were all sad when it was over.
Except for Logan. The bagpipers were too loud and scared him. Then he passed out for the remainder of the parade.

We went home for lunch, which included blueberries, raspberries, and special red, white, and blue candy. Everyone took a nap and it was an afternoon as usual. We debated about doing fireworks all day and had decided that it would be best to skip them this year seeing how it doesn't get dark until after 10. As the night went on and neighbors were playing with their fireworks, the dogs were going crazy, and Mackenzie continued to stay awake playing in her crib we thought why not. So we loaded a sleeping Logan (who amazingly sleep through it all and the transfer back into bed) and a confused Mackenzie into the car and headed out. The firework display is not too far but just far enough so we can't see them from the house. We parked in a parking lot that had just one other family in it and that had a clear view of the fireworks. Mackenzie enjoyed them and wasn't the slightest bit scared by the noise. The other family were also setting off there own and those were fun to watch as well. We left the house in a rush to catch the fireworks that I forgot my camera boo :( All in all it was a great holiday!
