Easter and Grandma's visit

Mom came into town Thursday afternoon. Mackenzie and Robert went to pick her up. Although Mackenzie was unsure at the airport, once they got home it took her about 5 minutes to warm up to grandma. She is much more comfortable on her turf.
On Friday we dyed Easter eggs. We decided the kitchen counter was an easier spot for a clean up and less chance of dying the carpet. We showed her how the eggs go into the dye.

And soon she was throwing them into the cups.
I am offering her the blue dye....
And splash goes the egg.
We also tried to get her to color on the eggs with a crayon but she wanted no part of that. Saturday we made Spring Nests. They were too cute not to take a picture. It is butterscotch and peanut butter mixed with chow mein noodles. Then you shape them into nests and add the jelly beans. Cute and yummy!
In the morning we opened up her basket then in the afternoon went on an egg hunt. She wanted nothing to do with the basket until she had eaten breakfast and was dressed. The girl likes her routine. Meanwhile, Logan slept.

The Easter bunny left her a water bottle which she didn't put down all day...

and a book, of course.
Since we were all dressed up I hoped it was a good opportunity for our first family of four picture. Here are the few good ones out of the many we took. Put in your vote for your favorite.
1.2.3.4.Then Grandma wanted in on the fun.

After a nap the ham went into the oven and we went out for an Easter egg hunt.
She discovered about half way through that some of the eggs made noise when you shook them. Mackenzie opened them up to find jelly beans. Luckily the Easter bunny was smart enough to only put one or two in the eggs. Some had chocolate but Daddy had to show her those.

After all were found we stayed outside to play. Mackenzie did not eat much of the candy. She thought it was better to hold it in her hand.
and nibble on it.
We were sad to see Grandma go home. Mackenzie even cried as we left the airport. And she was really missed at 7 am when no one offered to take the baby so we could sleep a little longer.
